The Eloquent Woman's weekly speaker toolkit

I read a lot about women and public speaking, and post my finds first on The Eloquent Woman on Facebook. But I always collect them here for you on Mondays as well. Here's what I've been reading lately:

• Speaking fees capped: A woman got a record speaking fee in New Jersey...so the governor pushed legislation capping those fees. It didn't help that the woman was Snooki from the TV show Jersey Shore. Wonder what the men got paid?
• Silent no more: Cate Huston is my client, and a reader of and contributor to The Eloquent Woman. Here's a great piece she wrote on silencing of women in tech.
• Did you miss? This was a jam-packed week on the blog. We took at look at Speaker credibility: When a great speech comes back to haunt you, and an extra: Actor Amber Tamblyn's manifesto on speaking up about harassment, which ends with a ringing call for women to speak up. Famous Speech Friday shared a speech by Fed chair Janet Yellen on the economic implications of holding women back.
